DESJARDINS, DR. JEAN-GUY - At his residence, May 29th, 2009, Dr. Jean-Guy Desjardins of Grand-Barachois passed away at the age of 79 years. He was the husband of the former Lise Janisse. Born at Drummond in 1930, he was the son of the late Pierre "Pit" and Jeanne (Theriault) Desjardins. Dr. Desjardins practiced optometry in Grand Falls for 35 years. Besides his wife, he is survived by his six daughters and one son, Claude Desjardins (Mario Côté) of Grand Falls, Monique (Jean-Paul Levesque) of Edmundston, Louise Desjardins of Ottawa, Sylvie (Raymond Bourgeois) of Dieppe, Josée (Gilles Desrosiers) of Ottawa, Pierre (Mireille Chiasson) of Shédiac and Nathalie Desjardins of Ottawa, 18 grandchildren, two great grandchildren, his sister, Marielle (Gilman Albert) of Grand Falls as well as nieces and nephews. Resting at O'Regan's Funeral Home, 515 Everard Daigle Blvd., Grand Falls with visiting hours Monday from 7 to 9 pm and Tuesday from 9:30 to 11 am. His funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 2nd at 11 am from the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, Grand Falls, with interment in the St-Michel Cemetery, Drummond.
