Bernard Aloysius Hickey
Passed peacefully away at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital, after a brief illness, on Tuesday, July 29, 2008, Bernard Aloysius Hickey, retired employee of CNR/TerraTransport, Korean War Veteran, age 81 years. Predeceased by his wife Joan (nee O'Connell) and brothers: Gerard and Francis. Left with fond and loving memories, daughters: Paula Cooper (Paul Gregory), Karen (Harry March) and Brenda Collins (Michael); grandchildren: John and Matthew Cooper; Dawn (Mark Waterman), Kathleen and Michael Dwyer; great-grandchildren: Trinity Dwyer and Jacob Waterman; brother Leo Hickey (Marguerite); sister Patricia Doyle (Bernard); step-sisters: Gertie Courish and Rose Troyano; sister-in-law Marjorie O'Connell; special nephews: David and Bob O'Connell; special nieces: Janet Bradbury and Terry Hearn; as well as many other relatives and friends, especially Doug and Gloria Fowler and the staff and residents of Meadow Creek Retirement Centre. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation Wednesday from 2 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 12 noon to 9 p.m. Funeral Mass on Friday, August 1st, at 9:30 a.m. from St. Patrick's Church. Cremation to follow, with inurnment at Belvedere Cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in his memory may be made to the Children's Wish Foundation or a charity of one's choice.
