RYAN, James Joseph – Passed peacefully away at the Vancouver General Hospital on Monday, February 2, 2009 at the age of 77 years. Jim was born in St. John's NL. After retiring from the NAPE office, he resided in Vancouver, BC. He leaves to mourn three children: two sons, John of Vancouver, Gerry (Helen) of Mexico, and Sheila Pennell (David) of Calgary, also two grandchildren, Stephen and Alexandra Pennell, and Jim's sister Winnie Gosse of Torbay. A graveside committal will be held at a later date at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, St. John's NL. The family is grateful for everyone's prayers and support.
SMITH, Patricia Marie (Tish) (nee Francis)— Passed peacefully away lovingly surrounded by her family on February 7, 2009 at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital, Patricia Marie (Tish) Smith, aged 65 years. Predeceased by her mother Mary Jane; father Edward; sister Shirley and brothers: Patrick and Edward (Junior). Left with fond and loving memories best friend Julie Butt; children: Robert (Bob) (Shelley) and James (Jim) (Barbarann); grandchildren: Shantell, Devin, Patrick and Nicholas; sisters: Marg (Alvin), Cathy (Dolly) (Alex); brother: James (Beatrice); sister-in-law Mary Francis; special person Gus (Sylvia); as well as many special nieces, nephews, and a large circle of family and friends. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation on Monday from 2 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian burial to take place on Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. from St. John Bosco Church.
