TILTON, CATHARINE MILL - The death of Miss Catharine Tilton, age 96, occurred Saturday, May 30, 2009 at the St. John & St. Stephen Nursing Home, her special home for the last 32 years. The family expresses heartfelt thanks for the wonderful care which the staff has given to Catharine. Also, we are grateful for the loving kindness of her long-time friend Pat Thompson. Catharine was the daughter of the late Frank S. Tilton and A. Rosaline (Dawes) Tilton. She is survived by her sister Mrs. Josephine (Murray) Knowles of Halifax, and by her niece Meredith Westlake and nephews Stephen Knowles, Rev. Bruce Ward, Philip Ward, and Richard Ward. She was predeceased by her sister Grace F. Ward. Catharine was a member of St. Jude's Anglican Church and was an active contributor to the welfare of her fellow residents at the home. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424 with visiting on Tuesday, June 2, 2009, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A funeral service will be held from Brenan's Chapel on Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at 1:00 pm.
