ROY D. STANLEY

STANLEY, ROY D. - The death of Roy D. Stanley of Nauwigewauk, husband of Shirley (Titus) Stanley occurred June 6, 2009, at the Saint John Regional Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Born in Hampton, NB, he was the son of the late Milton and Mabel (Ganong) Stanley, of Hampton, NB. Roy worked for Irving Oil Company Limited for fifteen years. He also owned and operated Hampton Auto Body, Hampton Woodworking and was a school bus driver for District 6 for a number of years. After his retirement he kept busy making some amazing wooden treasures for his favourite people. Roy was a faithful member of Saint Paul's Anglican Church and served on vestry and the building committee for many years. He was a volunteer fireman in Hampton for forty years and member of the Hampton Ambulance. Roy was a member of the Beaus and Belles Square Dance Club where he met many life long friends. Besides his wife, Shirley, Roy is also survived by six children; Son Brent Stanley (Janice), Quispamsis, NB and their children, Jill Lewis-Watts (John) and their children, Sam and Kalea, Crystal Moore (Anthony) and their children Rachel and Micah, Kelly Stanley (Mike), Daughter Kimberley McCormick (Frank), Rothesay, NB and their children, Branden (Stephanie), Tyler and Cody, Daughter Tanya Henderson (Mark), Hampton, NB and their children, Amy, Amanda Gauthier (Eric), Rebecca Steeves (Tyler) and their son Hunter, and Joey, Daughter Janice Bates (Robert), Kiersteadville, NB and their children, Jimmy (Angela), Katlyn (Donnie) and Stephen, Daughter Krista MacDonald (Jarl), Kiersteadville, NB and their children, Kassandra, Ben, Noah, and Jonah, Son Brad Stanley (Kristina), Rothesay, NB and their children, Kirsten and Jaryd; four sisters, Rita Ganong (Paul), Lois Bartlett (Reverend Hubert Deceased), Shirley Flegg (Murray) and Glenna Ronson; three brothers, Ronald (Audrey), Curtis (Arlene deceased) and Keith (Marina), Brother and Sister in laws, Marilyn and Ronnie Craft, Allison and Sue Titus, Neal(Buddy) and Joyce Titus, Bill and Phyllis Titus, Joyce Stanley, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. As well as his parents, Roy was also predeceased by granddaughter, Jenny; sisters Lillian, Jean, Evelyn, twin infant sisters Marjorie and Margaret, brothers Murray and George. Resting at Reid's Funeral Home, (832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, with visitation 6 to 8 pm Monday and 2 to 8pm Tuesday. The funeral service will be held, at 3:00 pm, Wednesday, at St. Pauls Anglican Church, Hampton, with Rev. Leo Martin officiating. After cremation, interment in St. Pauls Cemetery. Memorials to the MS Society Atlantic Division, St. Paul's Anglican Church, Heart & Stroke Foundation, or to a charity of one's choice would be appreciated by the family.
