JAMES KENNETH GODDARD
GODDARD, JAMES KENNETH - The death of James Kenneth Goddard occurred on Wednesday June 10 2009, at the Saint John Regional Hospital after a lengthy battle with Parkinson's disease, in which he fought with courage and dignity. James resided at the St. John and St. Stephen nursing home and was formerly of Broad St. Born April 15, 1936 he was the son of the late Charles and Annie Grace (Daley) Goddard. James worked with Civic Hydro all his working life. James was a member of the R.A.O.B Lodge 46 and 47 and a Member of the Saint John C.F. Foundation, where he repaired their equipment. James was a true outdoorsman enjoying hunting, fishing and gardening with his son Jamie and friend "J.R.". James will be remembered by buying the odd Lotto 649, scratch ticket and his love for chocolates which were always at his side. Surviving are loving wife of 52 years, Barbara (Davidson) Goddard; mother-in-law Edith Davidson; his daughters Cindy Winchester (Robert); Gloria Lambert (Wayne); Karen Beairsto (Steve); son Jamie Goddard; brothers William "Bill" (Val); Robert Hebert (Goddard) and his wife Theresa; his cherished grandchildren, in which he was so proud of Ashley Mannett; Grace Beairsto; Jackson, Jasmine and Joseph Lambert; several nieces and nephews; also survived by Brenda Collings (Jim); Rita cousins; John (Kelly) Lannigan; Paul Lannigan (Kim). Besides his parents James was predeceased by a daughter Tammy-Lynn Goddard; a brother John and stepfather Leo McLaughlin; father-in-law Bill Davidson. Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Rd. Saint John, (646-2424) with visiting hours from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Sunday June 14, 2009. Funeral service will be held Monday June 15 from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Parkinson's Society of Canada.
