BAIRD, SAMUEL MURRAY - The death of Mr. Samuel Murray Baird, husband of the late Marjorie (Kuhn) Baird occurred unexpectedly at his residence on June 9, 2009. Born in Saint John on December 14, 1930, he was the son of the late John and Annie Frances (Galbraith) Baird. Mr. Baird was a proud member of the RCMP, retiring in 1971, and was very active in the RCMP Veteran's Association. He enjoyed his trailer in St. Andrew's during the summers. As a grandfather he enjoyed following and supporting his special grandson, James Shepherd in all his sporting endeavors. He is survived by daughters Janice Shepherd and her husband Allan Rogers of Saint John, and Susan Baird of Niagara Falls, two sisters Frances (Jimmy) Eldridge, Texas, and Yvonne Thomas of Ontario, four grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Although there is no visiting at the funeral home, a funeral graveside service will take place on Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at 3 pm at Lorneville Cemetery.
