LEAVITT, FRANK EUGENE - At the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John NB on June 17, 2009 Mr. Frank Eugene Leavitt, husband of Mavis M. (Johnson) Leavitt of Beaver Harbour NB. Born at Blacks Harbour NB on March 23,1928 he was a son of the late Wesley Sr. and Mildred (Bradford) Leavitt. A loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, in addition to his wife Mavis he is survived, by three sons; Terry (Pam) Leavitt of Utopia NB, David (Janet) Leavitt of Labrador and Kevin (Shari) Leavitt of Chilliwack BC, eight grandchildren; Shelly, Stacey, Terri-Anne, Stephanie, Shannon, Sean, Ryan and Lesley, 14 great grandchildren, four brothers; Wesley Leavitt of Blacks Harbour NB, Keith (Alice) Leavitt and Herbert (Rose Dickerson) both of St. George NB and Vance Leavitt of Pennfield NB and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Frank was predeceased by five sisters; Norma Brown, Joyce Hanson, Mildred Parks, Doris and Evelyn Leavitt. Prior to his retirement, Frank worked as a Correctional Officer and Group Worker for the Province of New Brunswick. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed going on hunting trips and fishing. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion in Marysville NB. Resting at the St. George Funeral Home & Crematorium (755-3533) 26 Portage Street St. George NB with visiting on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The service will be held from the Beaver Harbour Baptist Church on Saturday at 2:00 pm with Rev. Bruce Alcorn and Rev. Fred Bradford officiating followed by interment at the Pennfield Rural Cemetery.
