MARGARET F. WOOD
WOOD, MARGARET F. - Margaret F. Wood, of Moncton, passed away peacefully at the Moncton Hospital on Thursday, June 18th, 2009. Born in Halifax, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Catherine (Brueton) Hamilton. Margaret was a former stenographer and homemaker who enjoyed collecting Royal Doulton figurines and decorating. She was a member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, member of the Ladies Guild and former choir member, member of the Kiwassa Club and the Boyd Anderson Chapter I.O.D.E. and a survivor of the Halifax Explosion in 1917. Margaret will be sadly missed by her son, William (Bill) Wood, Moncton; grandchildren, Danny and Shelley, both of Moncton; great grandson, Micheal; nephew, Harold Wood, Oromocto; sister-in-law, Margaret Northrup, Saint John. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, William R.E. Wood (1987). Visitation at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995), Saturday, 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service, St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Park St., Sunday, June 21st, 2009, 3:00 pm, Rev. Martin Kreplin officiating. Reception following the service. Interment, Fair Haven Memorial Gardens. In Margaret's memory, donations to the Shriners Children's Hospital or St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund would be appreciated by the family.
