MCGRAW, LEONA MARIE - Surrounded by her family, Leona Marie McGraw of Saint John passed away peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Saturday June 20, 2009, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born 1931 in Bathurst to the late Charles and Alice (Theriault) Poirier. Devoted mother, wife, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend. Leona leaves behind her best friend and companion of 45 years Reuben Ross of Saint John; her children Tom (Mary), Mary Ann Reid (Blair) both of Saint John, Alice of Toronto, Fred (Gail) and Florence (Roland) both of Saint John; nine grandchildren Angela, Lori, Glen, Aretha, Kevin, Sabrina, Fred, Joe and Lolita; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters Alice Dugay of Bathurst and Corrine Landry of Saint John; several nieces, nephews and many friends. Besides her parents, Leona was predeceased by her husband Bill; brothers Paul, Leo, Romeo, Arthur, Alphonse and Lionel and sisters Regina Thibodeau, Mary Jefferies and Evelyn Gallant. Services are under the direction of the Fundy Funeral Home 230 Westmorland Rd (646-2424). Memorial service will be held at the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday June 23, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. up until the time of service.
