DUFFY, CAROL J. 1931 - 2009 - Carol June Duffy, RN of Lakeview Manor and formerly of Old Coach Road, Riverview. It is with great sadness that Carol's family announce her passing, June 23rd, 2009, at the age of 78. Carol was born at Newcastle Creek, January 26th, 1931 and was the seventh child of Russell and May (Milton) Fullerton. She was a graduate of Minto High School and the Charlotte County School of Nursing, 1952. After graduation she joined the RCAF as a nurse and was stationed at Trenton, Ontario. Nursing was not only her career but her passion, having worked in the profession over 43 years. During this time she touched many people and was frequently remembered by families and patients for her kindness and compassion. During her nursing career she practised at the Moncton Hospital, Albert County Hospital, Saint John General and finally as Director of Nursing at Lakeview Manor, Riverview. Carol was a member of Trinity United Church, Riverview. Her passions in life were spending time with her family, travelling and golfing. She was the beloved wife of John Maclaren Duffy, and will be sadly missed by her daughters Leslie (Donald) McLean, Kathy (Robert) McCabe and Kim (Graham) Cope and her grandchildren Andrew, Keith and Leanne McLean and Tara, Jennifer and Stephanie McCabe. As well she is survived by sisters Greta Fullerton, Freda Murphy, Audrey Merrill, Patricia (Allison) Brown and brothers Gerard (Linda) Fullerton and Terry (Betty) Fullerton. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Keith Gordon Brown, brother, Gerald Fullerton and sisters' Jean Glenn and Mildred Lundbohm. As requested by Carol, there will be no visitation. A funeral service will be held at 11 am at Trinity United Church, Old Coach Road, Riverview on Tuesday, June 30, 2009 with Reverend Charlotte Youland presiding with a reception to follow at Trinity United Church hall. A private family interment will follow at Fairhaven Memorial Gardens following the service. Memorial donations in Carol's memory may be made to Lakeview Manor Salvation Army Nursing Home or Alzheimer's Society.
