RYDER, ELLEN CLAIRE - Ellen Claire Ryder, wife of the late Cecil J. Ryder passed away on Friday, July 24, 2009 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, NB on August 26, 1933, she was the daughter of the late George M. & Catherine J. (Emery) Taylor. She is survived by her daughter, Jane; one brother, Donald J Taylor (Brenda); five sisters, Lida Kierstead, Evangeline Lee, Myrtelle Speight (Albert), Doris M. Taylor, Judith A. Galbraith (Kenneth), all of Saint John, NB; two sister-in-laws, Carole Taylor, of Saint John and Jackie Furler (Allan), of Hamilton, Ont.; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Ellen is predeceased by her husband of 47 years, Cecil James; and one infant son; also three brothers, George, Alban, infant brother; and sisters, Eveline and Mary Darlene. Resting at Castle Funeral Home, "Fallsview Chapel", 309 Lancaster Ave., Saint John West (634-1701) visitation will take place on Sunday, July 26, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 27, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. from Castle Funeral Home. A private burial will take place at Old Cedar Hill at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Shriner's Hospital Burn Unit.
