The death occurred at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2009, of Maynard Thompson, of Water Street East, Summerside, aged 79 years. Born in Grand River, he was the son of the late Stanley and Lillian (MacArthur) Thompson. Survived by his wife, Daisy (Barlow) Thompson, children, Heidi (Scott) MacDonald, Summerside, Kimball (Lesley), Summerside; Stephen (Barb), Summerside, Gina (Clayton) Ellis, Summerside, Paul (Laura Downey), Charlottetown, grandchildren, Colin MacIntyre, Brody MacDonald, Courtney, Bryanna, Matthew, Ben and Andrew Thompson, Grace and Daniel Ellis, Chelsea and Faith Thompson, stepgrandchildren, Hillary and Kaeleigh MacLeod, Terry, William and Ryan Ellis, and by brothers, Raymond Thompson, Hamilton, Ont., and Horace Thompson, Richmond. Resting at the Moase Funeral Home, Summerside, until Saturday, then to Trinity United Church, Summerside, for funeral service at 2 p.m. Interment will later take place in Peoples Cemetery, Summerside. Visiting hours Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial donations to the Trinity United Church Building Fund or the Oncology Unit of the Prince County Hospital would be appreciated.
