EDA "BLANCHE" MAXWELL

MAXWELL, EDA "BLANCHE" - At the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen NB on July 30th, 2009, Mrs. Eda "Blanche" (Spear) Maxwell, wife of the late Ross E. Maxwell of Canal, NB. Born at Lepreau, NB on November 9th, 1918, she was a daughter of the late Randall and Rhee (Akerley) Spear. A loving mother, grandmother, and sister, she is survived by one daughter, Dawn (David) Daigle of Canal, two granddaughters; Gale Stanton of Blacks Harbour, NB and Naomi (Sylvain) Côté of Lawrence Station, NB, great granddaughters; Kaitilin Stanton of Blacks Harbour, NB and Gabrielle Côté of Lawernace Station, NB, one sister, Gertrude (Arthur) Boyne of Lepreau, two step grandsons; Joey Daigle of Bocabec, NB and Cameron Daigle of Blacks Harbour, NB and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Blanche was the last surviving member of her immediate family. In addition to her husband Ross, she was predeceased by brothers, Harry Spear and Ronald Spear and by one sister, Evelyn Clark. Prior to her retirement, Blanche worked for Connors Bros. as a packer for 40 years. She enjoyed cooking, reading, knitting and keeping her journals up to date. She was a faithful Christian who was the center of her family and was a very loyal wife to Ross. She was very fond of her community and her local neighbours. She will be sadly missed by her family and many friends. Resting at the St. George Funeral Home and Crematorium (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George, NB from where the service will be held from the Gary E. Waycott Memorial Chapel on Sunday at 2 pm followed by interment at the Lepreau Community Cemetery. Visiting at the funeral home on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. In Blanche's memory donations to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family. www.stgeorgefh.ca
