SMITH, JENNIE MATILDA (FORGRAVE) - The death of Jennie M. (Forgrave) Smith, occurred at her residence in Lower Millstream, on Wednesday, July, 1, 2009. Jennie was born in Southfield, NB on January 11, 1926, the daughter of the late Robert and Elvida (Ross) Forgrave. Jennie is survived by her companion, Gordon Smith; sister, Irma Burnside of Nauwigewauk; brothers, Allen and Mabel Forgrave, Lower Millstream, Otty and Sandra Forgrave, Southfield; sisters-in-law, Marjorie Forgrave, and Evelyn Forgrave of Belleisle; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by her husband Issac E. Smith; infant sister, Charlotte; brothers, Thomas and Nelson and cousin Gordon Ross. Visitation was held at Sherwood's Funeral Home, Norton, NB on Saturday, July 4, 2009. Funeral service was held at Sherwood's Chapel, on Sunday, July 5, 2009 with Otty Forgrave officiating. Special music was by Theresa Hickman. Selections were "Wonderful Peace" and "Where the Roses Never Fade". Pallbearers were Jude Aubin, Wayne Burnside, Brian Forgrave, Mark Forgrave, Paul Forgrave and Michael Smith. Interment followed in Riverbank Cemetery. Floral tributes and memorial donations to the Extra Mural Program, Heart and Stroke Foundation, Sussex Health Centre Foundation, Southfield United Church, St. John's United Church, Sussex Corner, Canadian Cancer Society, Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of Canada, Gideon Bibles and Riverbank Cemetery were received.
