WHITAKER, DORIS - The death of Doris Whitaker of Gagetown, NB occurred on August 8th, 2009 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, NB, in 1936, she was the daughter of the late Hartley and Violet (White) Harrison, foster child of the late Mr. & Mrs. Fenwick Hoyt and wife to Allan R. Whitaker. Doris is survived by her husband, Allan; her children, Bruce Whitaker (Heather), Patricia Whitaker (Ken), Gary Whitaker (Jennifer) and Christina Lackey (Todd); grandchildren, Karla, Amy, Andrew, Korey, Krista, Ashleigh, Daniel, Tyler, Alyssa, Brent, Brandon and Brad; great grandchildren, Julia and Aiden and another on the way, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents and her four siblings. Visitation will be held at the Oromocto Select Community Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 12th, 2009 from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 pm. A memorial service will be held at St. John's Anglican Church, Gagetown on Thursday, August 13th, 2009 at 2:00 pm with the Ven. John Sharpe officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery at a later date.
