GASKILL, DORIS KATHLEEN - 72 years. Of North Head, Grand Manan passed away at the Grand Manan Hospital on Thursday, August 13th, 2009. Born at Castalia she was the daughter of the late Mary Flagg and step-father Norman Stanley. Doris was a devoted mother, homemaker and was an employee of The Hovey Russell & Son Fish Processing Plant for many years as a very skilled Boner and Packer. She is survived by her husband Bowlen Stuart Gaskill of North Head; also four daughters Mary Bagley (Colin) of Castalia, Sheila Parker (Vernon) of North Head, Karen Lloyd (Richard) of Woodward's Cove, Julie Russell (Blaine) of Woodward's Cove; sixteen grandchildren; and four great grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews. Doris was predeceased by one grandson Benjamin; one brother Freland Stanley; and one half-brother Foster Greenlaw. Doris requested that there would be no visitation. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 15th, at the Castalia Baptist Church at 1:00 PM with Rev. Ron Ford officiating following the service. The interment will be held in the North Head Community Cemetery. The family has requested donations to the Grand Manan Animal Rescue League or to the N.B. Heart and Stroke Foundation.
