LEGERE, CHRISTINE MAY - It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Christine May Legere, wife of the late Allard Legere on Saturday, August 15, 2009 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Christine was born November 3, 1926 in Kent, England; she was the daughter of the late Archibald and Ida (Blacksmith) Goble. She will be sadly missed by her loving children, Mac Legere of Quispamsis, Mike (Brenda) Legere of French Village, Brian (Cindy) Legere of Baxter's Corner, Janet Cosman and Susan (Wayne) Dealy both of Victoria, B.C., Margaret James (Darrell) and Tina Gallant (Steve) both of Saint John; sisters Margaret Fuller and Dorothy Randall both of England; 23 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, also by her special friend Louie Dupere. Besides her parents and husband Allard, she was predeceased by one son Norman Legere, one sister Phyllis Smith and one brother Archibald Goble. Christine was a very caring and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who was very proud of her family. Later in life after her family had grown she worked part time at Saint Joseph's Hospital renting televisions. Christine liked to travel and when Al retired they both enjoyed the winters that they spent at their home in Florida. She liked meeting new people and made friends wherever she went. Christine also enjoyed knitting, working in her flower garden and weekly dances at Legion # 69 where she will missed by her many friends. Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road. Saint John (646-2424) with visitations on Sunday August 16, 2009 from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday August 17, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joachim's Catholic Church on Tuesday August 18, 2009 at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
