COOK, BERNICE (1931 - 2009) - It is with great sadness that the nieces and nephews of (Mary) Bernice Cook of Lobban Ave, Miramichi, announce of her passing on Tuesday, September 2nd, 2009 at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital in Moncton, NB. She was born in Chatham, NB on December 31st, 1931 and was the daughter of the late Matthew and Annie (Flynn) Cook. Bernice was a nurse for 39 years at various hospitals however the majority of her career was spent at the Hotel Dieu Hospital in Miramichi. Bernice was devoted to her family and cared for many of them during their time of illness at the family home on Lobban Ave. Bernice is the last surviving member of her family, she was predeceased by her four sisters, Barbara Gould, Marion (Mae) Cook, Elizabeth (Lib) Croy, and Margaret Cook as well as her six brothers; Benedict, Gerard, Wilfred, Peter Thomas, Peter Joseph and Terrance. In keeping with Bernice's wishes, there will be no visitation at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 11am from St Michael's Basilica with Fr John Fraser officiating. A reception to follow.
