JEFFREY THOMAS POTTS
POTTS, JEFFREY THOMAS, PHD - Following a courageous seven month battle with cancer Dr. Jeffrey Potts passed away on September 2, 2009 at Dallas Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas, Texas. Jeffrey is survived by his loving wife Dr. Jessica Taylor-Potts and his eight month old daughter Nadia of Weatherford, Texas. Also left to mourn are his loving parents Thomas and Enid Potts of Grand Bay-Westfield, NB his sisters Linda Curtis and her husband Bill of Lewiston, NY and Catherine Potts and her partner Brenda Hay of Kingston, ON nephew and niece Alec and Lara Curtis, his uncle Allan Slack and wife Gail of Calgary, AB and aunt Donna Slack of Swan River, MB and numerous cousins. Dr. Potts graduated from the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton, NB with a Bachelor of Physical Education degree, a Masters Degree in Physical Education from Indiana State University, Terre Haute, IN and a Doctor of Philos-ophy in Physiology from the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth, TX. He held Post Doctoral Fellowships at Johns Hopkins University Medical Center in Baltimore, MD and UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX. His scientific research was done at Wayne State University School of Med-icine in Detroit, MI and the University of Missouri in Columbia, MO. At the time of his death Dr. Potts was an Associate Professor at the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth, TX. An educational fund has been established for his daughter Nadia.
