
HILDA B. CURREN
CURREN, HILDA B. - Hilda Betty Curren of Saint John, wife of the late George Henry Curren, passed away on Monday, September 7th, 2009 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born at Saint John on August 9th, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Ella (Hovey) Shaw. Hilda worked as a care-giver for the Red Cross, and was a member of Douglas Avenue Christian Church. Hilda is survived by her son, David E. Curren of Saint John; two brothers, Douglas Shaw (Shirley) of Saint John and Lloyd Shaw (Helen) of Simcoe, Ontario; two sisters, Olive McQuinn and Dorothy Foote, both of Saint John; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Hilda was predeceased by a son, Brian Roger Curren; brothers, Fred and Calvin Shaw; and by sisters, Goldie Titus, Ethel Webb, Ruth O'Leary, and Margaret Chambers. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held on Friday at 1:00 pm from Brenan's Chapel. Interment will take place in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery.
