REID, THURSTON RONALD - Unexpectedly, at his residence at Bocabec, NB on September 11, 2009, Mr. Thurston Ronald Reid, husband of the late Annabelle (Cooke) Reid. Born at McAdam, NB on August 7, 1921, he was a son of the late Frederick and Martha (Groom) Reid. A loving father, stepfather, grandfather and brother, he is survived by three sons, Fred (Mary) Reid and Arnold Reid (Theresa Oliver) both of St. Stephen, NB and Ward Reid of Bonnyville AB, three daughters; Dawn (Paul) Hume of Las Vegas, NA, Joanne (Ed) Reimer of Black Falls, AM and Gail (Leo) Cote of Bonnyville, AB, stepchildren; Gordon (Joyce) James and Robert (Gail) James both of Ontario, Kenny James of the United States, Larry (Martha) James of Kerrs Ridge, NB, Sylvia (Aldon) Merchant, Lillian Johnson (Donald Mann) of Keswick, NB and Cindy (Victor) Hooper of Kerrs Ridge, NB; 14 grandchildren, five great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; one sister, Joyce (Joe) Connelly of St. Stephen, NB; one brother, Charles (Margaret) Reid also of St. Stephen, NB and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Thurston was a self employed truck driver for all of his working life. An avid outdoorsman, he loved working in the woods and riding his four wheeler. He enjoyed attending the occasional card party, be it with friends, family or whoever he could find to play. Thurston will be missed not only by his family, but by the friends he has made throughout the years. By Thurston's request, there will be no visitation or service. A private committal will be held at the Bocabec Community Cemetery. In Thurston's memory, donations to the NB Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of the donor's choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
