O'NEIL, BESSIE MARGUERITE - Peacefully at her residence, on September 26, 2009, Mrs. Bessie Marguerite (Mealey) O'Neil, wife of Mr. Wallace O'Neil of Pocologan, NB. Born at Pocologan on April 3, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Hazel (Campbell) Mealey. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister, in addition to her husband Wallace, she is survived by one son, Carl (Laura) O'Neil, and one daughter, Diane (David) Munn both of Pocologan; two grandchildren; Shyanne (Kenny) Hansen of Beaver Harbour, NB and Carl Jr. (Angela) O'Neil of Dartmouth, NS; four great grandchildren; Erik and Kaitlyn Hansen and Rachael and Bella O'Neil , two brothers; Charles (Georgia) Mealey and Kenny Mealey, three sisters; Hazel Winters, Beatrice Mealey and Alice McLean all of Pocologan and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Bessie was predeceased by one brother, Cecil Mealey. Prior to her retirement, Bessie worked as a labourer for Connor's Bros. She was an avid walker who enjoyed taking a long peaceful walk. She loved to take trips to Calais ME and to spend some quiet time watching hummingbirds. Bessie was a member of the Pocologan Baptist Church. Resting at the St. George Funeral Home & Crematorium (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George, NB with visiting on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The service will be held from the Pocologan Baptist Church on Tuesday at 2 pm with Rev. Grant Alcorn officiating followed by interment at the Pennfield Rural Cemetery.
