DYKEMAN, DOREEN - The family regrets to announce the passing of Doreen Dykeman, loving wife of Elmer Dykeman, which occurred on Thursday, September 24, 2009 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Elmer and Doreen had just celebrated their 59th Wedding Anniversary. Born September 11, 1927 in Lynn Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Gertrude (Colwell) Bartlette. Doreen was a member of Main Street Baptist Church and was a devoted Sunday School teacher in the Preschool and Nursery departments. Doreen leaves to mourn her husband Elmer, son Paul, a brother Robert, a sister Carole Bartlett, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents, Doreen was predeceased by her son Stephen, daughter Lynn and a brother Frederick "Bud". Resting at Main Street Baptist Church, 211 Main Street Saint John, with visitation on Monday, September 28, 2009 from 2 to 4 pm. The funeral service will be held from Main Street Baptist Church on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at 2:00 pm. Interment will be in Jemseg Baptist Cemetery.
