COUGHLAN, GERARD FREDERICK - In hospital at Winnipeg, Man. on September 4, 2009, following a lengthy illness. Born December 23, 1931 at Saint John, NB, he was the eldest son of Gerard F. Coughlan and Marie L. (Collette) Coughlan. He is predeceased by his parents, a sister Dawn M. and a son Michael and daughter-in-law Judith (Bovaird) Coughlan. Survived by his wife of 59 years, Shirley (Foster) Coughlan of Winnipeg and a son Gary P. and his children Gary S., Angela M., Patrick D., Tracy L., Bridget A., and Brenda T. and numerous great-grandchildren. Also survived by a daughter Carol of Winnipeg. Survived by his brother James F. (Katherine Keohan) of Saint John, their five children and seven grandchildren. Nieces are Kathleen M. (Jordan Wallace) Maitland, Florida, Maureen P. (Michael Holditch) of Saint John, Shawna M. of Fredericton, N.B. Nephews are Christopher F. (Carrie Haslett) of Burton, N.B., Peter J. of Saint John and cousins at several locations. Details of a Memorial Mass in Saint John, N.B. to be finalized at a later date.
