COSSABOOM, NEIL - Mr. Neil C. Cossaboom of White Head Island NB. Passed away Saturday October 3, 2009 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Chipman, March 3, 1946 he was the son of the late Vance and Ina Cossaboom. Fishing was his life's work; he started running scales in the "Rhonda & Holly" and then moved into lobster fishing. He ran the herring carrier "Strathhaven" for Connors Bros. for fifteen years until his health started to fail. In his later years he enjoyed long lining trips in the summer months fishing for halibut and spending time with his son Cory in the "Little Skipper". Neil always had time to be a family man for his wife and family and had a special love for his children and grand children. He is survived by his wife, Mirjam (Van Alphen) of White Head Island; one daughter, Patricia Greene (Mark) of Ingalls Head; his son, Cory Cossaboom of White Head Island; and his two grandchildren Kari-Jo and Eric Ingersoll. Several nieces and nephews, and many friends. The funeral service will take place Wednesday October 7, 2009 at the White Head Baptist Church at 2:15 pm with Rev. Jim Appleby officiating.
