MARTIN, DAVID D. - It is with great sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of David D. Martin of Westfield Road, Saint John, N.B. on October 2, 2009. David was born on February 14, 1930 and was the son of William Martin and Anna (Babineau) Martin. David was retired from Local 273 International Longshoreman's Association, was an avid outdoorsman spending quality time hunting and fishing with his life long friend Ted Burr and enjoyed times with his family, friends and neighbours. David is survived by his daughter, Karen Martin (Kim Pyne) of Saint John, his daughter, Kim Martin (Ross Joudrey) of Oak Point; his sister, Elizabeth Ketchum; and his very special friend, Annie Knee both of Saint John. David was predeceased by his wife, Lillian (Plewman) Martin. David will be greatly missed by his constant companion, his Chocolate Lab, JAVA. David will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him. Visitation will be at Castle Funeral Home Fallsview on Tuesday October 6, 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm with a service to celebrate David's life on Wednesday 11 am at the Funeral Home. For those who wish, remembrances to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Fund would be appreciated by the Family.
