LESTER M. WEBB

WEBB, LESTER M. - The death of Lester Machum Webb of Welland, Ontario, occurred at the Welland County General Hospital on Friday October 2, 2009, in his 89th year. Born in Hibernia, Queens County, NB, he was a son of the late Maurice and Lulu (Machum) Webb. He was predeceased in 1997, by his wife of 46 years, Florence (Broughton) Webb. The loving father of Robert and Pat Creighton, Jim and Judy Creighton, Larry Creighton and Jean Frazzari, Lester Webb Jr. and Constance Adamson; dear grandfather to ten grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; brother to Murray of Fredericton, Alden (Georgie) of Queenstown and Lloyd (Reta) of Millstream. Lester was predeceased by his twin brother, Kenneth and his wife, Bernadette and sister-in-law, Gladys Webb. Lester was a five year Veteran of World War II, where he was an aero engine mechanic and served in the UK. After the war, he moved to Welland and retired from T.H.B. Railroad in 1985. For the last six years, Lester resided at Rapelje Lodge in Welland, where he enjoyed many friends and acquaintances. Resting at Lampman Funeral Home, 728 Canboro Road, Pelham, ON, where visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held on Thursday October 8, 2009 at 11:00 am. Interment will be at Hillside Cemetery.
