DEMERCHANT, GERALD "JERRY" - 1958-2009 - Following a lengthy illness, Gerald "Jerry" DeMerchant of Perth-Andover passed away at Hotel Dieu of St. Joseph Hospital on October 6, 2009. Born in Plaster Rock on July 10, 1958, he was the son of Harold Jr. and Ellen (Corcoran) DeMerchant. Besides his parents, who live in Red Rapids, Jerry leaves behind his wife, Naida (Pelkey) DeMerchant; his daughter, Nikki DeMerchant of Perth-Andover; sister, Lynn (Clifford) Nunn of Aroostook; brother, Jeff (Lois) DeMerchant of Perth-Andover. Jerry was predeceased by his brother, David DeMerchant "Chum". Jerry was the Public Works Supervisor for the Village of Perth-Andover prior to his illness. He also worked for NB Power in his earlier years. Resting at Brunswick Funeral Home with visitation on Thursday 2-4 for family and 7-9 pm for the public. Funeral service will be held Friday, October 9, 2009 at 2 pm from Calvary Tabernacle in Perth-Andover. Pastor John Fournier officiating. Interment will be in Larlee Creek Cemetery.
