BARRETT, FREDERICK GORDON - It is with great sadness the Barrett family announces the sudden passing of Fred Barrett of Hampton, husband of Peggy (Keegan) Barrett, occurred September 14, 2009. He was born January 14, 1950 in Saint John, son of Connie (Gilliland) Barrett, Saint John, and the late Kenneth Barrett. He is survived by his wife, Peggy, mother Connie, three sons, Troy Barrett (Monica), Sussex, Rob (Stacy), Hampton, Adam (Tera), Hampton; two brothers, Steven, Saint John, Gary (Margo), Halifax; two uncles, Malcolm Dennison, Saint John, Bud Barrett, Saint John; five grandchildren, Keegan, Keira, Olivia, Alex and Brooke; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father and sister, Cathy. Fred was a long standing member of the Canadian Institute of Plumbing and Heating. He was the founder and president of Barrett Sales Ltd. for the past twenty years. He is a past member of Hampton Lions Club; Hampton Minor Baseball and Minor Hockey. The funeral was held September 18, 2009 from Reid's Funeral Home, Hampton, to St. Alphonsus Church, Hampton, where Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated by Rev. Kevin Barry. St. Alphonsus music ministry was present. The Casket Pall was placed by Troy, Rob and Adam Barrett and Jaye Walsh. Readings were by Mike Patterson and Cheryl McNulty. The Gift Bearers were Monica and Stacy Barrett and Tera Cook. The pallbearers were, Pat McNulty, John Allen, Jack Bellamy, Kevin Dennison, Mike Patterson and Corey Dennison. The honourary pallbearers were, Malcolm Dennison, Bud Barrett, Dave Patterson, Gordie Boyles and Curtis Dennison. Interment took place in Hampton Rural Cemetery.
