JONES, JEAN E. - Jean Elizabeth Jones of St. Martins, wife of the late John J. Jones, passed away on Thursday, October 15, 2009 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born at Bains Corner on October 14, 1917, she was a daughter of the late Milford and Sarah (Black) Mannett. Jean was a life long resident of the St. Martins area and was a member of Holy Trinity Anglican Church, and the Anglican Church Women. She enjoyed baking, quilting and gardening and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Jean is survived by her children, Dolly Huttges (Jim) of St. Martins, Richard Jones (Jayne) of Saint John, Jack Jones (Wendy) of Moncton and Brian Jones (Debbie) of Bains Corner; grandchildren Tanya Bennett (Jeff), Cassandra Hewey (Derek), Sarah Jones, Caleb Jones, Kerri Jones, Erika MacDonald (Russ), Shelly Reed (Billy) and Kimberly Jones; great grandchildren Joshua, Noah, Isaac, Ella and Owen and a sister-in-law, Nancy Wetmore of Hampton. In addition to her husband and to her parents, Jean was predeceased by a brother, Warren Mannett and a sister, Myrtle Mannett. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Friday from 7-9 PM. Visiting will also be held on Saturday from 12:00 Noon to 2 PM from the St. Martin's United Church, with the funeral service in the Anglican Rite of the Book of Common Prayer beginning at 2 PM.
