HOOPER, DONALD - Passed away at Ridgewood Veteran's Wing on Sunday, October 18, 2009. Born on April 14, 1925 he was a son of the late Earl and Mabel (Schoffield) Hooper. Loving husband of the late Gertrude (Earl) Hooper. Donald worked as a Millwright. He was a veteran of World War II. He was avid fisherman and hunter. He is survived by his son, Daniel (Connie) Hooper, of Saint John, NB; daughter, Carolyn (Daniel) Burchill, of Nachawic, NB; three sisters, Beatrice (Les) Deveau, of St. George, NB, Emily (Kenneth) Holmes, of St. Stephen, NB and Annette Kinney, of Tower Hill, NB; two brothers, Jack (Lois), of South Brookfield, NS and Richard (Jeannie), of St. George, NB; three grandchildren, Aimee & Danny and Shelly (Tom) Bradsell; two great grandchildren, Tamara and Melinda and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his three sisters, Thelma Hanley, Leona Mean and Annette Kinney and seven brothers, Milfred, Lewis, Carroll, Joseph, Paul, Earl and Keith. Resting at Castle Funeral Home, "Fallsview Chapel", 309 Lancaster Ave., Saint John West, (634-1701) visitation will take place on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 and Wednesday, October 21, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm, with a Legion Service on Wednesday at 7:00 pm. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 22, 2009 at 1:00 pm from Castle Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Ocean View Memorial Gardens. There will be a reception at the Fallsview Family Reception Center, following the interment. Donations, in memory of Don, may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the River Valley Wesleyan Church.
