JUNE (CECELIA MARY) GAGNON

GAGNON, JUNE (CECELIA MARY) - With the heaviest of hearts the family of June "Grammy" Gagnon, best friend and beloved wife of Nelson Gagnon of 56 years are saddened to announce her passing on October 22, 2009. She was born in Saint John on June 1, 1934 daughter of the late Ada (McLean) and Hugh McIntyre. June enjoyed painting, story telling, writing poetry and short stories which led to the recent publication of her children's book. June was an active member of the Cathedral Parish, served in the CWL and as a Eucharistic Minister. She enjoyed Red Hatters, clogging, spending time with her family and sharing her gift as a cook. She is survived by her husband Nelson; 5 daughters, Lynn Koumbias (Simon), Shirley Bruckschwaiger (Horst), Wanda Bruckschwaiger (Walter), Noella Newman (Greg) and Liza Gagnon (Jerome); 12 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; her brother Warren McIntyre and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents June was predeceased by her brothers, Wayne and Philip, infant sister Shirley and her nephew Dana. Her family wish to invite all her extended family of friends to share in celebrating her love of life. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Sat. 7 - 9 pm and Sun. 2 - 4 pm and 7 - 9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Waterloo St., Monday, October 26, 2009 at 12N. Interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
