DONALD ARTHUR LUSBY

LUSBY, DONALD ARTHUR - After fighting a "good fight" Donald Arthur Lusby, 74, succumbed to his short encounter with cancer on the evening of Thursday, October 22, 2009. His death occurred at his beloved farm in Prosser Brook surrounded by his family. Born in Springhill, NS and educated in the local schools, he attended Success Business College, Moncton. Don's expertise was always as an entrepreneur. After several endeavors in this field, he joined the firm of Jones Foster Insurance Ltd. He and Pat Smith co-owned and operated the firm for 35 years until Donald's retirement in 1997. Following his retirement, he moved permanently to "The Farm", tending its gardens and enjoying hunting, four-wheeling and skidooing. Donald loved nothing better than when the "kids" would come home at any time but especially for the harvest of produce. Not counting what was given away, Don's farm has been known to feed five families for the winter. He was particularly proud of his gladioli, strawberries, and raspberries. Christmases were something to behold! He was a member and past master of the Acadia Lodge # 49 of the Free and Accepted Masons. He was also a member of the Luxor Shrine Temple, Saint John and Moncton Shrine Club.
