SOMERVILLE, SHIRLEY RUTH - It is with great sadness we announce the death of Shirley Ruth Somerville, age 74, wife of the late K.G. Somerville, of Springfield, NB, who passed away peacefully on October 25, 2009, at the Sussex Health Center. She was born on November 21, 1934, at Pleasant Ridge, NB, the daughter of the late Frank and Eva (Darling) Long. Shirley is survived by her son, John and Carol Somerville of Springfield; daughter, Eva and Ron Cunningham of Springfield; grandchildren, Denny, Natalie, Jodi and Chris, Danielle and Nick, Kendra and Judson, Morgen, Alexa; great grandchildren, Cassidy, Jaimen, Carter, Jaxson, Ceara and Kadeance; brothers, Bob and Louise of Salt Springs, Francie and Dorie of Saint John, Ray and Deby of Saint John; sisters, Elva Morrell of Sussex, Treva and Doug MacLeod of Eureka, NS, Marion and Ron Frail of Sussex, and Judy and Mike Kelly of Norton; sisters-in-law, Marion Long of Toronto, Muriel Long of Saint John, Joyce Somerville of Moncton and Jennie Doucett of Hamilton; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her daughter, Cheryl; brothers, Burt and Wib; sister, Florence. She is resting at Sherwood's Funeral Home and Life Tribute Centre (839-2156), 18 Scovil Road, Norton, NB, with visitation on Wednesday from 2 to 8 pm. A celebration of Shirley's life will be held from Kings Kirk United Church, Belleisle Creek, NB, at 11:00 am, on Thursday, October 29, 2009. Interment will follow in Bayview Cemetery, Hatfield Point, NB. Donations to the Kings Kirk United Church or the memorial of the donor's choice would be appreciated.
