ADAIR, GRETA IRENE - Mrs. Greta Irene Adair of Adair Road Waterford passed away at the Sussex Health centre on October 27, 2009 at the age of 84. Born in Markhamville on February 2, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Sarah (Allen) McFarlane and was the wife of the late Cecil Adair who passed away in 1994. Greta is survived by four daughters: Mae Goddard (Robert) of Waterford, Sheila Chambers (Elmer) of Adair Road, Dayle Kelly (Bill) of Moncton, Karen Hay (Kevin) of Adair Road; four sons, Wayne of Waterford, George (Enid) of Adair Road, Larry (Ida) of Shepody, Kevin (Heather) of Sussex Corner; two brothers, Leon McFarlane (Reta) of Waterford, Raymond McFarlane (Jane) of Sussex; three sisters, Lois Esmond (Dennis) of New Westminster, BC, Helen McLeod of Quispamsis, Marguerite Keys of Sussex; her daughter-in-law, Alicia Adair of Sussex; her sister-in-law, Freda McFarlane of Adair Rd.; her brother-in-law, Nelson McFarlane; 24 Grandchildren, Dion Goddard (April) of Waterford, Lana Keirstead (Rick) of Sussex Corner, Drew Goddard (Lyndsay) of Picadilly, Lisa Hutchinson (Andrew) of Penobsquis, Shelley Doyle (Jeff) of Summerfield, Angela Robinson (Derek) of Sussex, Trevor Chambers of Adair Rd., Scot Adair (Diana) of Adair Rd, Terry Adair (Julie) of Sussex Corner, Stacy Kelly (Danny Auffrey) of Dieppe, Randy Kelly (Janice) of Colpitts Settlement, Pam Kelly (Kenny Babkirk) of Moncton, Natasha Gravlin (Peter) of New Hampshire, USA, Shane Adair (Charlene) of Sussex, Adam Hay of Adair Rd, Eric Hay (Danielle Clement) of Quirk Rd, Jacqueline, Emily and Sophie Adair of Sussex Corner, Kristine and Jason Adair of Sussex, Justin, Josh, Lukas McKnight of Sussex; 22 great grandchildren, Ryan, Renee, Devin, Joshua, Jared, Ashley, Kurtis, Khloe, Deven, Delaney, Aiden, Aleigha, Georgia, Bronwyn, Owen, Jake, Courtney, Nathan, Autumn, Peter, Wyatt and Hayden; her friend, Val Mitton of Sussex; as well as several nieces and nephews. Greta is predeceased by her brothers, Milford and Stewart McFarlane; her sisters, Ruby McFarland and Vivien Snyder; her sisters-in-law, Dorothy McFarlane and Olive McFarland; and by three brothers-in-law, Murray Keys, Willard McLeod and Murray Snyder. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176) where visitation will be held on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 pm. A Celebration of Greta's life will be held from Wallace Community Chapel on Friday, October 30, 2009 at 1:00 pm. The interment will take place at Trinity Cemetery, Sussex Corner. There will be a time of fellowship with the family immediately following the committal service. Donations made to the St. John's Evangelist Church, Waterford, Red Cross, Sussex Hospice would be appreciated by the family.
