JOHNSTON, FRANCES ELEANOR (STEWART, HARRON) - December 5, 1928 - October 27, 2009. It is with sadness that we announce the death of Frances Johnston who passed away at the Oromocto Public Hospital. She is survived by her devoted husband Fred Johnston of Hoyt; two daughters, Eleanor Schaus (Bob) of Hoyt and Elaine Eldridge (Allan) of Saint John; three sons,: John (Janet), Ronald and Roy (Kathy) all of Hoyt; seven grandchildren, Jamie Johnston, Julia Harnish (Chris), Tim Johnston (Melissa), Keith Johnston, Dan Schaus, Carrie Rae Eldridge and Ryan Eldridge; two great grandchildren, Brandon and Madison Harnish; two special cousins, Chris Hamm and Ethel Alexander; several nieces and nephews, and one sister-in-law, Kaye Stewart of Ontario. Frances was an active member of Patterson United Church; singing in the choir, a member of the Board of Stewards, the United Church Women, the Ladies Aid as well as the adult Sunday school class. She enjoyed her time as a volunteer at White Rapids Manor. She loved music, especially Gospel music. Christmas was her favorite time of year, she loved to remind people that Christmas was only so many months away and was ready for Christmas by early September. She is predeceased by her birth parents Greta and William Stewart and her adopted parents Mary (Crombie) and George Harron, "two wonderful people"; two sisters, Geraldine Berry and Dorothy Winchester; two brothers, Robert and Ronald Stewart. Relatives and friends are invited to Patterson United Church for visitation on Thursday, October 29, 2009, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be from Patterson United Church on October 30, 2009 at 2:00pm with Rev. Jeffro Bursey officiating. Interment to follow in the Patterson United Church Cemetery.
