MAGNUSSON, RETA MARIE "RE" (NELSON) - Beloved wife of Everett Magnusson and daughter of the late Helen Pauline (Clarke) and Charles Richard Nelson, passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at the Saint John Regional Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. She attended Netherwood School for Girls and Mount Allison University. Re is survived by her husband, Mag, her son Brian and her daughter-in-law, Sandi of Chamcook, NB & Hazelton, BC; their children, Melanie, Lana and Lars; her son, Paul of Manhattan, NY; her sister, Pauline Himmelman of Halifax, NS, as well as several nieces and nephews. Re led an active life and enjoyed reading, playing bridge, traveling, gardening and volunteer work for many worthwhile causes including driving cancer patients, Meals on Wheels and the Christmas Exchange. Just recently Re and Mag celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Arrangements under the care of Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). A Memorial Service will be held from St. John's Chapel of Ease in Chamcook, NB on Saturday, October 31, 2009 at 2 pm.
