WHITE, Arthur E. (Art) – 1919 - 2009. Passed peacefully away at the DVA Pavilion on Tuesday, February 10, 2009, Arthur E. White of Torbay, aged 89 years, member of the Merchant Marine WWII. Predeceased by wife Lillian (Lil), August 1994 and son Raymond, August 2006. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his sons: Edward (Daisy), Gordon (Rowena), Arthur Gerald (Marina), Eric (Marie), and daughters: Marion (Henry Thorne), Geraldine (Patrick Vicars); daughter-in-law Linda White; fifteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren; one sister Pearl Codner; sisters-in-law: Flo White, Josephine White, Mary White, Mary Dunphy and Margaret Lacey. Also leaving to mourn many relatives and a large circle of friends. Poppy will be deeply missed and will be forever in our hearts through many grateful memories. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, Torbay. Visitation Wednesday, February 11 from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m., Thursday, February 12 from 10 a.m. - 9 p.m. and Friday, February 13 from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. Funeral Service on Friday, February 13th, at 2 p.m. from St. Nicholas’ Church, Torbay. Interment to follow at St. Nicholas’ Cemetery, Torbay. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to St. Nicholas’ Building Fund or the Newfoundland Heart and Stroke Foundation.
