JENSEN, LORRAINE - At the Grand Falls Manor, October 30, 2009, Mrs. Lorraine Jensen of Grand Falls passed away at the age of 85. She was the wife of the late George Jensen. Born at Grand Falls in 1924, she was a daughter of the late Jean-Baptiste and Alexina (Belanger) Lavoie. Lorraine was employed by the Department of Education. She taught in elementary schools at Anfield and New Denmark. Later she enjoyed giving private piano lessons to young students and also to adults. While living in New Denmark, she attended Assumption Church, Blue Bell, was involved in teaching Sunday school to the children and also accompanied the choir on the organ. Music was such an important part of her life, her happiness reflected in her voice. On her retirement, she decided to take violin lessons. A period of time later, on special occasions, she was invited to play the violin at Saint-Michel Church, Drummond. An interest in music which she continued until her death. She will be greatly missed by her only son, family and friends. Lorraine is survived by her son, Daniel (Rosella) of Moncton; two grandchildren, Troy (Tracy) of Sydney, NS and Tania (Marc) of Moncton; four great grandchildren, Dawson, Chloe, Erika and Isabelle; one brother, Hubert Lavoie (Louise) of Hawkesbury, Ontario; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Daniel and Gilbert Lavoie; three sisters, Madeleine Woods, Annette Dewolfe and Rachel Rasmussen. Resting at O'Regan's Funeral Home, 515 Everard Daigle Blvd., Grand Falls with visiting hours Sunday from 7 to 9 pm and Monday from 12:30 to 2 pm. Her funeral service will be held Monday, November 2nd at 2 pm from the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, Grand Falls, with Father William Rice officiating followed by interment in the Assumption Cemetery.
