BUCHANAN, CLARA M. - The death of Clara May Buchanan of Sussex, occurred at the Sussex Health Centre on October 31, 2009 at the age of 81. She was born at Millbrook, NB, a daughter of the late William H. and Martha (McFarland) Proctor and was in her 65th year of marriage to her best friend Ora V. Buchanan. Besides her husband, she is survived by her daughters, Harriet (Fred) Liddle of Penobsquis, Betty Ann Buchanan of Sussex and Martha (David) Chown of Keirstead Mountain; son, Clarence Buchanan of Millbrook; grandchildren, Melody Kane, Amy Buchanan, Kristen and Courtney Chown, Mark Kane, Will Buchanan, Bailey and Colby Chown and five great grandchildren; sisters, Viola Gall of Fort Qu'Appelle, SK and Alice (Earl) Mitton of Sussex Corner; brothers, Murray Proctor of Picadilly and Nelson (Lee) Proctor of Deseronto, ON; sister-in-law, Florence Proctor of Sussex Corner and several nieces and nephews. Clara was predeceased by a grandson, Garnet Swan; sister, Irene O'Neal; and brothers, Phillip Proctor, Russell Proctor and Wilson Plummer. The family will receive visitors at the Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Road Sussex (506-433-2133) on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday November 4, 2009 at St. Mark's Anglican Church, Sussex Corner at 11:00 am with Reverend Allen Tapley officiating. Interment will be at Trinity Cemetery, Sussex Corner.
