EMMA JANICE MCKAY

MCKAY, EMMA JANICE - Peacefully at her residence at Pennfield, NB on November 4, 2009, Mrs. Emma J. (Scullion) McKay, wife of the late Donald W. McKay. Born at French Village, NB on June 18, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Mabel Gertrude (Langstroth) Scullion. A loving mother, grandmother and sister, she is survived by her son, John McKay of Pennfield, NB and by her daughter, Lorna (Steven) Ball of French Village NB; two grandchildren, Stuart and Donald Ball both of Saint John, NB; one sister, Ella White of Saint John, NB, one sister in law, Betty Scullion of Moncton, NB and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband Don, she was predeceased by five sisters, Dorothy Dallon, Ruth Ladner, Mabel Long, Margaret Beyea and Mary Smith; and by three brothers, Clifford, Ronald and George. Prior to her retirement, Emma worked as a nurse at the Fundy Hospital in Blacks Harbour, NB for a number of years. She was a member of the Christ Church (Anglican) in Pennfield, NB and the Royal Canadian Legion Auxilliary Branch # 40 in St. George, NB. She was a quiet person who loved spending time with her family and will be missed by all who knew her. Resting at the St. George Funeral Home & Crematorium (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George with visiting on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The service will be held from the Christ Church (Anglican), Pennfield, NB on Saturday at 11:00 am, followed by interment at the church cemetery. In Emma's memory, donations to the NB Extra Mural Hospital or the NB Heart and Stroke Association would be appreciated by the family. (www.stgeorgefh.ca)
