HATHEWAY, REV. PERLE RUSSELL - (April 18, 1912 - November 9, 2009) - Rev. Perley Russell Hatheway passed away peacefully on November 9, 2009 at the Victoria Glen Manor at the age of 97. Perley was born at Bath, NB on April 18, 1912 to the late Colman and Jennie (Padget) Hatheway. Rev. Perley was an ordained minister with the United Pentecostal Church for over 50 years. He pastored churches in Ontario and New Brunswick. He retired from active ministry in 1979. Resumed an interim pastorate at Four Falls for 7 years. Then he attended Calvary Tabernacle in Perth-Andover until taking up residence at VGM for the past 2 1/2 years. During his ministry Rev. Perley had a positive impact on many lives. Rev. Perley leaves to mourn his wife of 65 years Elaine (Rattray) Hatheway; one son Wayne (Joyce) Hatheway of Saint John; three daughters Sheila Long of Saint John, Gail Hatheway and Violet (Serge) Roussel all of Perth-Andover; 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Rev. Perley was predeceased by two brothers Roy and Frank, two half sisters Doris Nicholas and Thelma Donovan, son-in-law Paul Long. Resting at Calvary Tabernacle, Perth-Andover, NB with visiting hours on Wednesday, November 11th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 12th at 1 pm with Rev. D. T. Ferrell & Rev. H. M. Lewis officiating. Interment in River-de-Chute Cemetery. Memorial donations to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
