CARTER, CLAUDE D. - The family of Claude D. Carter is deeply saddened to announce the sudden passing of their DAD on November 28, 2009 at Ridgewood Veterans Hospital in Saint John, NB. He is survived by his eight children; Roma (Michel) Douglas (Nancy), Ronald (Elizabeth), Lou Anne Patricia (Philip) Randolph (Cindy), Claudette (Gerry), Claude Andrew (Trenna) and his 20 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. He is Predeceased by his parents Roy and Josephine Ina (Clark) Carter; his wife Geraldine; siblings Lloyd, Keith, Douglas, Donald, Marlon, Bobbie, Eileen; and grandson Michael. Claude was born in Central Blissville on February 24, 1921. He was a World War 2 Veteran, woods worker and Commissionair. He loved hunting, gardening and driving the back roads. The family wishes to thank the Ridgewood Veteran Hospital palliative care nurses and staff for giving Dad the excellent care and to the many friends that he made while residing there. Family and friends are invited to Sunbury Funeral Home on Monday for visitations from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be at the Blissville Baptist Church on Tuesday at 2 pm with Rev. Leo Porter officiating and assisted by Rev . John Martin. Interment will be at the Blissville Cemetery at a later date.
