HURD, ISABELLA RUTH - The death of Mrs. Isabella Ruth (Cheeseman) Hurd widow of the late Howard Hurd occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on December 7, 2009. Born in Saint John on July 15, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Silas and Maude (Perkins) Cheeseman of Fairville. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was a member of Dominion Lodge #18, Crystal Chapter #13, Pythian Temple #25, L.O.B.A. Baxter #92, and Grand Mistress of the Grand lodge of N.B. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Good Shepherd. Besides her parents and her husband she was predeceased by her sisters Alice Shepherd, Bertha Hinds, and Annie Shepherd, and two brothers Murray Cheeseman and Charles Cheeseman. She is survived by nieces, nephews, and a special nephew Ellis (Barb) Shepherd and great niece Patricia (Michael) Shepherd Fleming. Resting at Castle "Fallsview" Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave., Saint John West (634-1701 with visiting on Wednesday from 7 to 9 pm. A graveside committal will take place on Friday at 2:30 at the Church of the Good Shepherd Cemetery. Following the interment, a Time of Fellowship will follow at the Fallsview Family Reception Centre.
