NELSON, MARJORIE ALICE - Marjorie Alice Nelson, 91 of Rocmaura Nursing Home formerly of Saint John, West, passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2009, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on November 19, 1918, she was the daughter of the late James MacDonald Spencer and Lillian Mabel Spencer (Chapman). Marjorie worked as a dental Assistant and receptionist for Dr. Wowchuck for many years. She was a life long member of St. Georges Anglican Church as well she taught Sunday School and was a former choir member. Marjorie was Past Chief Martello Temple #25 and District Deputy Grand Chief. She was also a member of The Philip A. Jerguson Chapter #18 Order of the Eastern Star and a member of Potts Lodge 669, Lorneville. All through her life Marjorie loved to play piano and sing in her local church. She is the last surviving member of her immediate family. Marjorie is survived by several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Marjorie is predeceased by her husband Eugene Nelson and her brother Douglas MacDonald Spencer. No visitation by request. The Funeral Service will be held Thursday, December 31, 2009 at 3 pm from St. Georges Anglican Church. Burial to follow in Cedar Hill Extension, Family flowers only, donations may be made to St. Georges Anglican Church.
