ELSIE MILDRED THOMAS

THOMAS, ELSIE MILDRED - It is with great sorrow that our family announces the passing of Elsie Mildred Thomas (nee Galbraith) on Saturday, January 09, 2010. She died at her home at Rocmaura Nursing Home. Born in Saint John, NB and predeceased by her husband Dyson Thomas she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Mabel (McCavour) Galbraith. She is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Jane (Don) Hemmings and Sharon (Daryl) Wilson and sister, Eleanor Kennedy, of London Ontario. She was a loving grandmother to Mark (Sue) Hemmings, Gregory (Jessica) Hemmings, Craig (Janet) Wilson and Christine (Greg) Ross; great grandchildren, Aren, Adrienne and Kaiya Hemmings and Evelyn and Thomas Ross. She leaves to mourn several cousins, nieces, nephews and friend and room-mate Leona Baird. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sister, Ruth Brittain and nephew Bruce Brittain. She was a member of the Brethren Assembly. The family will receive friends at Castle Funeral Home, "Fallsview Chapel", 309 Lancaster Ave., Saint John West (634-1701) on Sunday, January 10, 2010 and Monday, January 11, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. from Castle Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Cedar Hill Ext. Cemetery. A reception will be held at the Fallsview Family Reception Center following the interment. Donations, in memory of Elsie, may be made to the Alzheimer's Society or Rocmaura Nursing Home or the donor's choice.
