ALAN RICHARD DENNISON

DENNISON, ALAN RICHARD - The passing of Alan Richard Dennison, of Fredericton, NB, husband of Ruth (Symonds) Dennison, occurred on Friday, January 8, 2010 at York Manor Nursing Home. Born on March 16, 1932 in Milltown, NB, he was a son of Paul and Doris (McKenzie) Dennison. He taught 22 years in NB, was the Executive Assistant to Minister Cockburn and Minister Tucker and ran the project called Job Start. He was affiliated with Olivet Wesleyan Church and belonged to the Rotary Club. He was very active all his life in the Progressive Conservative Party and belonged to several clubs and associations. Besides his wife, he is survived by niece, Janet McLaughlin of Red Deer, AB and nephew, Gary McLaughlin of London, ON; great niece, Christine Grandy of Toronto, ON; cousin, Shirley Corkum of Quispamisis, NB; also survived by nieces, Karen and Kathy of Saint John, NB; several other extended family. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Barbara McLaughlin; brother, Ralph Dennison. Although there will be no visitation by request, A Funeral Service will be held from Crosspoint Wesleyan Church (former Olivet Wesleyan Church), Marysville, NB on Tuesday, January 19, 2009 at 3 pm with Rev. John Symonds officiating and Pastor Tim Guptill assisting. Pallbearers are Stephen Woodworth, Welby Thumwood, Emily Woodworth, Nicole White, Clint Symonds and Shane Hoyt. Interment will take place in the Olivet Wesleyan Church Cemetery in the spring. For those who wish, remembrances made to York Foundation (York Manor) or Bethany Bible College would be appreciated by the family. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
