RICHARD JAMES BARRETT

BARRETT, RICHARD JAMES - Richard James Barrett, devoted husband of Ursula (Pulter) Barrett, of Champlain Heights passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Wednesday, January 13, 2010. Born 1935 in Saint John to the late Richard S. and Agnes (Callahan) Barrett, Richard was a Crane Operator and worked for DOFASCO for over 27 years before retiring in 1990. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion branch #53 and had a passion for music and was a part of many groups including the "Geritol Follies." Besides his loving wife Ursula, Richard is survived by one brother Joseph; nieces Joyce and Belinda; nephew Richard; special canine companion Peggy as well as many friends especially Bill McManus of Hamilton, ON. Arrangements are under the direction of the Fundy Funeral Home 230 Westmorland Rd. (646-2424). At Richard's request there will be no visitation. A memorial mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 16th, 2010 at St. Joachim's Catholic Church, 603 Loch Lomond Rd. at 10:00 am with a reception to follow. Donations in Richard's memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or charity of the donor's choice.
