REV. KENNETH MILTON HUGHES
HUGHES, REV. KENNETH MILTON - 93, of Havelock passed away January 25, 2010 at the Sussex Health Center. Born in Lakeview, N.B. he was a son of the late Milton and Bessie (Barton) Hughes. Kenneth began teaching in public schools at an early age and then went on to university where he received his Bachelor in Theology and later his Bachelor of Arts in Theology, Bachelor in Divinity and Bachelor in Education. He enjoyed a long career as Pastor in several churches in the Convention of Atlantic Baptist Churches until his retirement. Survived by his beloved wife of 48 years Carolyn (Hill); children Lynette Carson (Gary) of Havelock, Laurie LeBlanc (Dan) of Hamilton On., John of Hampton, Mary Hughes of Waterloo On.; cherished grandchildren Christopher, Timothy (Sarah), Steven, Nathan (Marley), Erin, Michael and Philip and by several nieces and nephews. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Predeceased by brothers Carey and Arnold and sisters Iona Branscombe, Dorothy Hughes, Harriett Dickinson, Pauline Pitt and Doris Hughes. The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday January 30 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Havelock Baptist Church. There will be no funeral by personal request. A graveside service will be held at a later date at Cambridge Narrows Baptist Cemetery. If desired memorials to the Havelock Baptist Church Building Fund would be appreciated by the family and placed with the Salisbury Funeral Home and Crematorium (372-4800) who are in care of the arrangements. www.keirsteads.ca
